Are Credit Bureaus Really Looking Out For You?

March 11, 2008

Looks like there is another corporate war around the corner. Have you heard of Experian and LifeLock? Well, it seems that Experian is mad with LifeLock and they are officially waging a war… Experian alleged that “credit laws do not provide for a third party to place fraud alerts on behalf of a consumer.”

Here’s a little more insight about this issue:

LifeLock charges about $10 per month to make a customer’s credit data more secure by placing what is known as an “initial fraud alert” in files that are maintained by Experian and other competitors

… And because of this… Experian is not very happy!

For those who are smart enough to take a step back and think, you will realise that services offered by LifeLock are specifically designed to protect the consumer.

Some people prefer free alerts but if you think about it, paid alerts are far more better….or is it? Have a look at lifelock and decide for yourself.
